Every Wednesday on IG Live I interview a different woman about her story and life journey. Many of these women are personal friends who I've met throughout my life - from my time living in NYC, or growing up in Texas, during my TV career in various markets around the country, and through my current community of moms in Dallas. They're artists, musicians, chefs, authors, entrepreneurs, non-profit founders - and each of them is on a mission to impact the world and continues to inspire me. They are amazing!

This week’s guest is my friend and fellow Hockaday mom (and alumna), Nikky Phinyawatana, of Asian Mint and Nikky Feeding Souls. Nikky is a visionary entrepreneur and influencer. She is the creator and owner of the highly acclaimed and award-winning Asian Mint Restaurant Group in Dallas and Nikky Feeding Souls lifestyle brand.
Nikky Feeding Souls allows her to share her passion of feeding souls through food, culture and travel. Nikky has cultivated the art of engaging and expanding the interests of others and now offers virtual experiences that include cook “alongs”, insights to traveling and cultural exploration, culinary retreats to Southeast Asia, a YouTube series to feed the souls of others and a very active live feed to connect people and share her joy and energy.
In 2020, Nikky was featured in a special edition of D Magazine that celebrated the most influential leaders in North Texas. She was listed among the Top 500 leaders that are driving the North Texas economy and making it a vibrant place to work and live. Her virtual “Escape to Thailand” was featured in Crave DFW as she created the opportunity for those who love food and culture to explore both from the safety of their homes. 2020 also included the launch of her new line of Thai cooking sauces. Her online cooking classes incorporate stories of her native Thailand and the traditions and holidays celebrated there giving participants a full multi-cultural experience.
Nikky has also been featured on the cover of Where Women Create and was the recipient of the Women That Soar Award for “Business Award 2017.” That same year, eWomen Network also awarded her with “Business Matchmaker of the Year”. Nikky was also honored to have cooked at the James Beard House in New York City where she designed a special dinner celebrating Loy Krathong, Thailand’s lunar festival.
Having grown up in Bangkok, she ventured to Dallas and graduated high school from the internationally revered boarding and independent school, The Hockaday School in 1996. Four years later, she received her Bachelors in Business Administration from Babson College in Boston, majoring in Entrepreneurial Studies and Marketing. She later returned to Dallas and attended El Centro College Culinary School.
Nikky and I met on a playground during a pandemic playdate last year. I was quickly taken by her joy for life and love for cooking and hope to one day travel with her on one of her epic foodie trips abroad. Until then, I’m excited to introduce you to Nikky so that you, too, can be inspired by her love for life and joy of cooking. I can’t wait to share her story with you!
